August 25, 2026 - New Field Type: Address (Google search)! 🌍📍

There's a new field type available for your registration forms: Address (Google search)! Instead of a free-text box or a states-only dropdown, registrants get a search-as-you-type address box powered by Google Places. It works for addresses worldwide and only accepts real, street-level addresses — so the data you collect is complete, correctly formatted, and free of typos.

Why you'll love it:

• Verified addresses only: Registrants must pick one of the live suggestions, which eliminates misspellings, partial addresses, and free-form guessing.
• Works worldwide: International registrants are no longer blocked by US-only state dropdowns — an address in Toronto works just as well as one in Texas.
• No workflow changes needed: The confirmed address flows through your reports, exports, and certificate merge tags as ordinary text, exactly like a text field. Your existing certificates and report workflows keep working as-is.

What Your Registrants See

As they type, live address suggestions appear for them to choose from. A green "Confirmed" label appears inside the field once they've picked a verified address, and a yellow "Not confirmed" label makes it clear when they still need to select one of the suggestions.

How To Set It Up

Head to Organization Settings → Custom Fields and select "Address (Google search)" in the Field Type dropdown when creating or editing a field. Then attach it to your registration types or courses just like any other custom field. Settings that don't apply to address fields (like dropdown choices and input masks) are automatically hidden.

Behind the scenes, we also capture the structured pieces of each address (street, city, state/province, postal code, and country) to power future reporting features.

One note: address fields can't yet be used as a CE Broker/PARS reporting-state field or for Neon address mappings — those still need their separate individual fields.
