When Your Credit Gets Reported

If your course reports to CPE Monitor, CE Broker or a similar body, here's when that happens and what to do if you can't find it.

This page may not apply to you

Plenty of courses simply issue a certificate and report nothing to anyone. If your provider never mentioned an accrediting body, Getting Your Certificate is the page you want.

Reporting happens when you submit

Your credit is sent at the moment you press Submit on the final step — not overnight, and not when you first claim the credit.

If something goes wrong with the submission, you'll see the error right there on your completion step, with detail about what happened. That's deliberate: you find out immediately rather than discovering months later that the credit never arrived. If you see an error, copy the text and send it to your course provider.

I can't find my credit at CPE Monitor

Work through these in order.

Allow up to 24 hours. CPE Monitor reconciles newly submitted credits in a daily batch, so a credit submitted today may not be visible until this time tomorrow. If you finished the course within the last day, this is almost certainly the answer — check again tomorrow before doing anything else.

Page through your whole history. CPE Monitor shows recent activity first and paginates. The credit is very often a page or two further down than people look, especially if the course was reported under a name you don't recognize.

Check that the profile details on your registration were right. Your credit is posted against the NABP e-Profile ID you entered when you registered. The ID was checked against your date of birth at registration, so outright typos rarely get through — but a valid ID that isn't yours passes that check, and the credit then posts correctly to the wrong person's profile. Your course provider can look up exactly what was submitted for you.

If none of that finds it, contact your course provider. They can see precisely what was sent, including the ID, the date of participation, and the activity number.

I can't find my credit at CE Broker

The same order applies: check your full activity history first, then confirm the license number on your registration was correct.

License numbers are checked when you register rather than when you complete, so an invalid one usually surfaces as an error at registration time. If you got that error and pushed past it, that's worth mentioning to your provider.

My certificate exists but the credit wasn't reported

These are two separate things, and one can happen without the other.

A certificate is issued by the organization running the course. A reported credit is a record sent to an outside accrediting body. A course might do both, either, or neither.

If you have the certificate but no credit appears at your accreditor, your provider needs to look at the reporting record — the certificate itself doesn't tell you whether the report succeeded.

Nothing was reported and I expected it to be

Reporting only happens if the provider set the course up to report, and if your registration collected the details the accreditor requires — an e-Profile ID and date of birth for CPE Monitor, a license number for CE Broker, and so on.

If your registration never asked you for those, the course probably wasn't set up to report for your registration type. Your provider can confirm, and can usually report your credit retroactively once they have your details.
