Finding a Learner

Where to look when you need someone's registration, progress, or history — on one course, or across your whole account.

Two views cover almost everything, and which one you want depends on whether you're asking about a course or about a person.

Everyone on one course

  1. Open the course
  2. Course builder: go to Tools & Reports › Registrant List. Classic pages: go to the Lecture Tools tab and click View Registrations.

From there you can see everyone who signed up, open individual profiles, edit profile details, resend registration emails, and take the other per-learner actions described in Managing Registrations.

This is the view to reach for when a question is really about the course — who hasn't finished, who registered under which type, who needs their access email resent.

One learner across every course

When the question is about a person rather than a course — "what has this member taken with us?", "did they ever complete the 2024 update?" — use Global Participant Search in Reports & History. It finds the participant and shows everything attached to them across your account.

When a learner seems to have "lost" their history

A learner whose history looks empty or incomplete has usually registered a second time under a different email address, so their record is split across two profiles. Searching by name rather than email is what surfaces both. See Registration & Access for how to resolve it.

Reporting across many learners

For questions that span learners rather than picking one out — completions in a date range, credit hours awarded, evaluation responses — the reports in Reports & History are the better tool, and they export to a spreadsheet.
